History

In 2005, we officially became established as a Nonprofit 501 C3 Corporation. The founding members worked to develop a Board of Directors to offer guidance and support of the organization’s mission and the drive to become an accredited behavioral health agency.

Family Pride became Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredited. The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization with a focus on advancing the quality of services in health and human services. These health and human services range from child and youth services to aging services to opioid treatment. CARF is an accrediting body meaning that a CARF-accredited service provider has applied the CARF set of standards for quality to their business and service delivery practices. CARF International provides a framework, then consults and advises health and human service organizations to help improve their service quality

Seeing an increase in interest and need for services, Family Pride expanded our in-home and community-based into Lake County with referrals from Lake County Juvenile Court, Job & Family Services, and schools districts such as Painesville City Schools.

Renewed accreditation for CARF.

Beginning with our partnership with Ashtabula County Child Protective Services, we expanded our services to Ashtabula County and worked within  Ashtabula City Schools. 

Family Pride Established an internship program for bachelor and graduate level counseling and social work students with Case Western Reserve University and John Carroll University.  Today Family Pride works with 10 universities throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania.

We began a 10 week long parent-training program for parents raising difficult or out of control children. The group met weekly for three hours to learn strategies and techniques to use at home.

We started to utilize a sliding fee scale to better help our families afford counseling and case management services.

Family Pride celebrates our 10-year Anniversary!

We grew our partnerships in Geauga county to include, school based programs in several school districts. These programs were developed through the help of Peg’s Foundation, which allowed us to provide mental wellness groups for students without cost.

We embraced the ongoing changes in technology to include Electronic Health Records, individual lap tops for employees, and the use of Smart Phones. The ongoing use of technology has allows us to make our services even more mobile, to best meet the needs of our clients.

We partnered with the Ohio Children’s Trust Fund to incorporate the Active Parenting curriculum to our clients and families. 

We started growing again to begin Integrated Behavioral Health with Substance Abuse Program Accreditation through OMAS and CARF. 

Through the Digging Deeper Community Garden in Madison, Family Pride team members work with children and family members to grow their own vegetables and plants, which improves the sense of responsibility for children, communication between family members, as well as offers a positive way to de-stress from daily life.

We expanded our parenting cirriculm to include, Cooperative Parenting through the support of the Ohio Department of Mental Health. 

In collaboration with United Way Services of Geauga County, the Geauga County Safety Center, and Ravenwood Health, Family Pride developed at Geauga County Reentry Collaborative to help program participants successfully transition from the Geauga County Jail back into the community. This program, funded by the Cleveland Foundation provided case management, extended life skills groups in the jail, and reentry housing to participants.

As our services continue to grow, we opened a second office in Ashtabula county.

With help from The United Way of Geauga County, we developed the Geauga County Senior Support Services Program. This program aims to help individuals ages 60 and above through a variety of support services.

Added a third office in Middlefield, Ohio

CARF accreditation Renewal

We expanded our services to include telehealth. Telehealth is when one of our therapists or case managers provides counseling and support services over the internet through email, video conferencing, online chat, or phone call.
